Hi all. There are a few "things you need to know" for the event.
1. The City of Port Huron has enacted an ordinance that prohibits smoking of anything in city parks. Kiefer Park is considered a city park and so there is no smoking of anything including e-cigarettes and all of that. We kindly ask you to observe their rule and not smoke in the park. A smoking area will be provided. It's not our rule, it's theirs, so please don't be upset with us.
2. Everyone will have to show I.D. before entering. Even if you are 100 years old, I.D. must be presented to security before you receive your wrist band. We are a non-discriminatory I.D. event.
3. No one under 21 will be permitted to enter. We have allowed babies in strollers with their parents. But we prefer if parents make other arrangements for their kids as this is an adult event and kids just get bored.
4. Designated driver wrist bands are available upon arrival. They are $5 to enter. No person will be served if they are the designated driver.
5. Backpacks are permitted but will be checked by security just because that's the world we live in. They will just want to take a quick look so be ready to show them. It just keeps everyone safe.
6. No guns please. We totally support the right to carry, but there are people who are nervous around guns and we want everyone to be comfortable. We really appreciate your help with this. We have security there to do the work for you if there is a problem.
7. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a lease and you bring a doggy poo bag just in case your furry pal has to go. There will be trash cans around the site to deposit the poo bag in.
8. We will be accepting credit cards at the gate. Cash is king, though, and if you prefer not to have us run your card, there is an ATM just across the street at the Chase Bank. Tickets at the gate are $40.
9. Every person MUST HAVE FUN! That's the most important rule of all. You will have 15 tickets to try some really great beers! We know you will find something great to drink so don't be afraid. Get out there and try something you've never tried before!
We look forward to everyone joining us for the Port Huron Beer Festival. Cheers!
